The highly-praised wine show, A Wine Goose Chase with Susan Boyle is coming to Templeogue, on Thursday 31st January 2013, 8pm.
If you like the thrill of the theatre, comedy, the history and romance of wine (including Ireland’s links to the wine industry), tasting wine, then you will love this one-woman show. The performance is just over an hour long, and includes wine tasting (of wines with Irish connection) throughout. The show is being organised by the Wine Club at Templeogue Tennis Club, in the heart of Templeogue village.
Susan Boyle is the centrepiece, and she is a rare breed who becomes alive and enraptures an audience, and she also knows a considerable amount about wine. She hails from a well-known wine retailing family in Kildare.
This unusual show has been met with rave reviews at the Dublin Fringe Festival, and has toured foodie events in Kilkenny and Dingle. Just some of many reviews:
- “This is a near 5 star experience” Eithne Shortall The Sunday Times.
- “The history, decanted along with increasingly potent tastings, is fascinating” Peter Crawley The Irish Times ****
- “At the heart of this show is something a lot less exclusive than the love of fine wines: it’s the power of personal passion that can transform the remotest of subjects into a really enjoyable evening’s entertainment” Sinead Finegan, Entertainment.ie.
Price: €25 per person. This includes wine at the end of the show. Tickets must be booked in advance, through Club Secretary, Con Denvir. Tel 087 418 1129.
