In addition to offering WSET wine courses (WSET are the largest wine educator in the world), customised wine training for off-trade is available from Premier Wine Training.
Prior to any training, the goals of the organisation and desired outcome from the training need to be understood. Thereafter, a customised programme will be developed to address the performance issue. This can be a short 2 hour session, a series of short sessions, or more intense day-long sessions, depending on the level of training required and the time available.
Training session plans will include a variety of suitable training techniques, and will usually incorporate elements from the following:
- Importance of the wine category in the off-trade
- Merchandising & display
- Wine tasting, describing wines, writing tasting notes
- Upselling techniques
- Food & wine matching principles
Sessions will include some form of assessment to ensure that learning objectives have been achieved. Certificates of achievement/ attendance can also be supplied.
